Secrets to SAVING TAX when Developing, Renovating or Investing

Chartered Accountant Brent McCartney from DFK Benjamin King Money will explain the latest, tax rules, ‘gotchas’, and practical tax saving strategies.

Whether purchasing a property for investment, renovating properties for profit, or undertaking a development, choosing the wrong structure to hold a property could cost you tens of thousands in unnecessary tax dollars.

Critical considerations include:

– Tax Minimisation on the property’s eventual sale;

– Potential immediate Tax Benefits from gearing;

– Risks involved with the property; and

– The need for Asset Protection.

Brent will also touch on:

  • Tax cuts: How tax rates are changing in the new financial year, and who stands to benefit the most;
  • Depreciation: How new depreciation rules affect what you can claim on your investment properties;
  • Capital Gains Tax: When the CGT discount will or won’t apply to the sale of a property;
  • Goods & Services Tax: What determines when GST will apply to a property transaction;
  • GST Withholding Rules that apply to developments (including the responsibilities of the buyer and the seller);
  • Tax-Saving tips for property investors and developers

Brent will also share real-life examples demonstrating where the WRONG accounting structures failed to deliver tax benefits, and answer any questions from the floor throughout the night.

You do NOT want to miss this meetup!

Brent McCartney is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Director of tax experts DFK Benjamin King Money. He has more than 20 years experience in taxation, business services and superannuation compliance.

Building Luxury Homes for Profit

Kurt quit his job as a carpenter in 2009 to focus on property development. Since becoming a successful property developer, Kurt has grown from developing entry-level units and townhouses, to creating multi-million dollar luxury homes.

Kurt will share important lessons from undertaking high-end developments, including how the needs of buyers for these luxury products differ from average “run-of-the-mill” townhouses.

Kurt is a Registered Building Practitioner and member of the Master Builders Association, with over 25 years experience in the building industry across both the domestic and commercial sectors, and we’re thrilled to have him share this expertise with the group!

Meet & mingle with like-minded property investors …

Come along to meet Brent and Kurt in person and network with other property investors.  You’re sure to take away great ideas to apply on your next project!

After the presentation we will have a fun focused networking session where you’ll get to interact with active property investors, renovators, developers, and even meet potential joint venture partners.

But you’ll need to be there to experience it!

I look forward to seeing you

Tony
